Mount Tabor Lodge in Action
Greetings from the West moving into the East my
fellow Brothers Masons of MT. Tabor Lodge #106.
There are a few changes to the Offi cer line up for the
rest of the year. This is due to a medical and surgical
procedure that has put Worshipful Master Leslie
Aschnewitz out of commission anywhere from four to
six months. So please keep him and his recovery in
your thoughts and prayers.
This being said the elected offi cers will be moving
up one position. Junior Warden Craig Fontaine will
be moving into the West as Senior Warden, I Senior
Warden Erick Steichen will be moving into the East
as Interim Worshipful Master and Senior Deacon
Brian Brockhouse will be moving into the South as
Junior Warden. Please be patient with us as this was
an unexpected change that none of us expected to
happen. Rest assured we will continue to work for the
benefi t of the craft and the lodge.
New business: As we are all aware the season is
changing and we are soon to be looking at winter in
the northland. With this brings the festive seasons
of Thanksgiving November 27, Native American
Heritage/Sovereignty Day November 28th, Christmas
December 25th and New Year’s.
Now as most of us know we Masons of Detroit
Lakes hold a special event in the Detroit Lakes
Washington Square Mall every year. This event is
Photos with Santa and runs every weekend from
December 6th through December 21st. We also have
the Santa Float in the Parade of lights on Monday
December 1st after which will be Photos and Wishes
with Santa in the Mall from 6 to 8pm. With this comes
set up for the fl oat and the Santa’s Storefront. We are
looking at November 29th from 9am until complete to
work on the fl oat and the Storefront.
This work entails several individuals working as a
cohesive unit for the betterment of several children’s
holiday season. We need at least 9 individuals each
day to complete this endeavor. We already have
someone for the positions of Santa, money table,
popcorn table and possibly photographers. We will
need two computer operators printing the pictures,
a cutter to trim and put the pictures together. We
will also need someone to handle the memory cards
from photographer to printing crew. A ninth individual
would be helpful for breaking the others and to assist
in organizing the crowd if needed.
For further information regarding dates and times
for this event please see our website mttabor106.
org it also has contact and sign up information. There
will also be a signup sheet at the next few Lodge
meetings and Shriner meetings.
Thanks for your time brothers as I hope the rest
of the year fi nds us all well and we are all carried
into 2015 ready and willing to further our craft and
ourselves as we are all seeking more knowledge and
understanding in who and what we are.
Worshipful Master Erick L. Steichen
